About the Project
An-Najah Specialized Pediatric and Maternity Hospital (Red Crescent Building – Nablus)
Our Vision
An-Najah National University and its educational hospital is leading health education and health services in the West Bank. By uniting the medical, academic, and local community under this initiative, ANNU aims to establish a model of excellence in healthcare for children and mothers. This project is not only a pressing medical necessity but also a humanitarian investment in safeguarding the health and future of Palestine’s next generations.
An-Najah National University (ANNU) is proud to announce its initiative to utilize the Red Crescent Building in Nablus into the first specialized pediatric and maternity hospital in the city and the wider northern West Bank.
The Building
The Red Crescent Hospital building is about 6000 m2, located in Khillet Al-Amoud to the east of Nablus, and was constructed in 2007. Despite its potential, it has remained underutilized, having only been used briefly by the Ministry of Health during the pandemic. With ANNU assuming responsibility, this facility will be comprehensively renovated and repurposed into a modern healthcare hub for children and mothers.
Why this hospital?
• Medical Need: There is currently no specialized pediatric hospital in the northern West Bank. This project will provide the only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) beds in the region, serving over 180,000 people in eastern Nablus and surrounding areas.
• Strategic Location: Positioned in eastern Nablus, the hospital will be the only healthcare facility of its kind in this area, improving access for underserved communities.
• Academic Impact: Integrated into An-Najah Teaching Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine, the hospital will play a vital role in medical education, training, and research.
